David Broom
David Broom learned to fly with his father from an early age, and earned his pilot’s licence aged 17.
After completing a degree in Computing, Broom decided to leave his aspiring electronics career in order to pursue his passion of flying full-time and qualified as a Flying Instructor in early 2003.
Since then, he has amassed well over 6,000 hours of flying in all sorts of microlight aircraft, light aircraft, hang-gliders, paragliders and sailplanes. He is also qualified as both a Ground and Flight Examiner.
He has seen great success in microlight competitions, having been selected for the British team in various international events since 2003.
These successes include winning the British Championship in 2009 and 2010, and European and World Championship Silver medals in 2004, 2005, 2007 & 2010, with a Gold medal in the 2015 World Air Games.
